Travel

I was going to open by saying I love to travel. But that’s not really true. I love visiting other places, I just hate the travel part! As my father is English and I am a dual citizen of both the United States and Great Britain, I have made many trips to England over the years. Not as many as I would like, though. My most recent trip was in 2006 with my husband. Jason and I visited my relatives in England, staying with my aunt and uncle in St.Neots, and then traveled on to Prague, Czech Republic, which was a first time visit for both of us. Prague is a beautiful city—stunningly beautiful. I can’t wait to visit Europe again…

Tower Bridge

Here's a shot of Tower Bridge that Jason took from the upper level of an open air double decker tour bus during our trip to London.

Most of our stateside trips are for either birding or bowling, or both. I travel with Jason to the ABC national bowling tournament based on the location of the event. In recent years we have been to Reno and Albuquerque. We had a great time in both spots…

Pyramid Lake, Nevada

This picture we took of Pyramid Lake in Nevada really does it no justice. This lake is unbelievably gorgeous. I remember feeling like we on another planet--I had never seen anything like this before. The water was crystal clear and the landscape was beautiful.

Acoma Pueblo (Sky City)

Acoma Pueblo (aka Sky City) contains an ancient pueblo village that sits atop a 367 sandstone bluff. After touring the pueblo, our tour guide told us we could ride the bus back down the bluff or climb down the "stairs" for a scenic tour. We decided to take the "stairs". We soon discovered that the stairs were actually just rocks and really didn't resemble stairs at all. I was completely terrified. The nice couple shown in the picture were following us down and kept giving me words of encouragement as my legs were shaking uncontrollably. We finally made it down. I don't think I would do it again, but I am proud to say I did it once.
